Las Vegas, USA, 8 October 2013:  OAG, the market leader in aviation intelligence, is announcing Choose Chicago as the first tourism bureau customer at World Routes to sign up for OAG’s new Traffic Analyser tool, which has been launched at the event.

Aimed at airports, aviation consultants, tourist boards and financial institutions, OAG’s Traffic Analyser is a powerful online analysis tool that provides access to scheduled airline passenger booking data. Developed in partnership with Travelport, the product utilises Travelport’s passenger booking information to allow users to gain detailed insight into areas such as the number of passengers originating and arriving at a particular airport, load factors on each flight, the size of passenger markets between certain destinations and booked seats on specific routes. All data can be presented in a report format or through an integrated mapping function, which allows users to create dynamic visualisations of traffic flows.

Choose Chicago is the official sales and marketing organisation promoting Chicago’s world-class assets to the global leisure travel and convention markets to ensure the economic vitality of the city and its industry partners.

Rob Shaw, director of analytics, OAG, says:  “It is important to the city of Chicago to understand the passenger traffic coming to the city, to assess where passengers are coming from and to measure the impact of campaigns designed to drive traffic to the city.”

David Czechowski, director of market analytics, Choose Chicago, says: “A thorough understanding of domestic and international air traffic into Chicago is essential in evaluating promotional effectiveness and visitor trends. After considering several alternatives, Choose Chicago selected OAG for its comprehensive approach in providing passenger booking data in an easy to use, client-oriented platform.”

OAG Traffic Analyser is the fourth module in the OAG Analyser suite, which also includes OAG Connections Analyser, OAG Schedules Analyser and OAG Mapper. To ensure absolute accuracy, OAG Traffic Analyser is continually validated against the OAG Schedules database, which contains data for more than 900 airlines and 4,000 airports.
